Artscapes Landscape Design - Brookwood Project Before

The Goal and the Challenge:

Family who loves entertaining at home wanted to expand their “living” space into their underutilized backyard. Two of the biggest challenges were using light appropriately and being mindful of nature in the adjacent wooded area.

After

A balanced, joyous backyard that the homeowners and their guests can enjoy year-round, even when admiring it from inside the home.

The How:

(1)

As we designed a backyard that was enjoyable and safe for entertaining, we made sure to include a focal point in each outdoor room while maintaining privacy and space to relax in every area. The yard includes an inground pool, walk-out terrace, several seating areas, and an arched gateway.

(2)

To minimize the darkness of the space, we used CAST lighting to brighten up the landscape without disrupting nature. We layered the lighting to draw your eyes around to different areas, heights, and walkways, hiding the bulbs themselves whenever possible to keep the yard safe and beautiful, no matter what time of day.
